Assists in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, physical structures, and plumbing and electrical systems across the plant.

What you'll do:

• Dismantle machines and equipment, replace defective parts and motors, and adjust feed mechanisms
• Clean and lubricate machine parts (shafts, pulleys, gears, bearings); replace or repair machine belts
• Electrical work: bend and cut conduit, run wire, connect motors and fixtures, replace switches and fuses
• Plumbing work: bend, cut, and thread pipe; clear clogged drains; replace fixtures
• Operate welding machinery to repair or join metal parts
• Building upkeep: patching, painting, and building worktables, benches, and shelving
• Keep machines, tools, and the work area clean and in good order; accurate time reporting

Requirements:

• Associate degree (required)
• 2 years of maintenance experience (required)
• 2 years working with Programmable Logic Controllers (required)
• Shop math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percentages
• Able to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form and work through practical problems
• Focused, with attention to detail
• Forklift operator certification — we can certify you on site

Production work across our core operations: heat treat line loading, unloading, and pull, clean up, box stack, dip paint, hang and paint, assembly, and grinding. Reports to the Production Supervisor.

Starting pay by shift: $18.00 on 1st, $19.00 on 2nd, $20.00 on 3rd — and 3rd shift is where we need people most.

What you'll do:

• Provide production labor in assigned work areas and assist with production setup
• Work safely and follow Haven Steel's health and safety policies
• Work as part of a team toward company production standards
• Participate in first part and hourly quality audits
• Bring performance improvement ideas to your supervisor

Requirements:

• Able to lift 50 pounds, sometimes repetitively, throughout the shift
• Able to reach overhead and work standing, stooping, and kneeling; pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing
• Dexterous use of both hands and good corrected vision
• Able to work in above-average temperatures (100+ degrees)
• Able to work with minimum supervision after receiving job instructions
• Positive, respectful attitude and the ability to learn manufacturing operations and technology
• High school diploma or GED preferred
